Chester  W. Crawford ’53-A, age 90, of Wind Crest Community at Highlands Ranch, CO, longtime practicing physician in Green Bay, Wisconsin, passed away January 6, 2018, in Highlands Ranch, CO. He was born May 9, 1927 in Oconto, WI.

On August 22, 1948, he married Marion Gmack in Green Bay. He obtained his medical degree from Loma Linda University in 1952, followed by an internship at Madison General Hospital. He then served as a medical officer in the US Air Force from 1954-1956. Following his discharge from the service, he began a family practice in Green Bay and in 1975, he and Dr. Wesley McNeal founded Family Practice Associates of Green Bay. In 1986, he and with his son Bill established Wellness Associates of Green Bay, a preventive medical practice. During his years of practice he was a member of the active staff of Bellin, St. Mary’s and St. Vincent Hospitals. He was a Diplomat of the American Board of Family Practice and Charter Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Prior to his retirement in 2004, he was honored by the Wisconsin State Medical Society for 50 years of service.

Dr. Crawford and wife, Marion moved to Denver, CO in 2007 to be near family.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marion on August 15, 2014.

He is survived by a son Bill and daughter-in-law Luann of Minneapolis, MN, daughter Karen and son-in-law Roger Murrill of Highlands Ranch, CO, daughter Mary and her partner Julie of Los Angeles, CA, two grandchildren William “BJ” of Stamford, CT and Katie of Cincinnati, OH, and a brother Kenneth Crawford of Ohio formerly of Oconto, WI as well as a host of family and friends.
