Debra Stottlemyer ’86, AA President, have recently retired from an internal medicine clinical career to care for hre three elderly parents in addition to my quadriplegic husband. She remains an active faculty member, and was able to volunteer at the school. Doug Hegstad ’80-A, chair of internal medicine at LLUH, asked faculty alumni to help virtually teach the third-year students on the IM block rotation so that they would get the needed clinical credit toward graduation. She gave two lectures and facilitated two weeks of “morning report” (albeit given at 4 p.m. instead of 7 a.m.!). She is also working closely with the AA Executive Director, Calvin Chuang, who is currently grounded but working remotely in Australia due to COVID-19 causing an international travel ban.
