Alumni Association Treats Sophomores to Pie After Exams
On a muggy Friday morning, October 28, 2016, Alumni Association staff and a couple volunteer mothers set up The Student Fund canopy and prayed for no rain. It turned out to be a beautiful morning as the staff and volunteers served pumpkin and apple pies for members of the Class of 2019 who were completing their fall exam cycle. The event was sponsored by the Student Affairs Council and The Student Fund.
The exhausted students stumbling out of the Alumni Hall for Basic Sciences were happy to find a sweet fall treat and a few minutes of socializing with classmates in the open air. One class member even brought out the class’ own tub of ice cream for those who wanted some cold vanilla cream with their pie. Students expressed their appreciation for the treats and how nice it was to find them after a long week of exams.
A special thank you to sophomore student representative Carly Leggitt for her help in organizing the event and to Danielle Hoxie and Simone Dennis who helped slice and serve the pie.
