Excerpt from the School of Medicine Report newsletter, October 26, 2017:

School of Medicine alumnus William C. Swatek ’49 passed away on October 13. He was 97.

Swatek graduated in 1949 and spent more than four decades working and teaching as a pathologist on the East Coast before returning to Loma Linda in 1988. Swatek and his wife, Rose, whom he met at the Sanitarium on the Hill, remained dedicated to the institution throughout their lives, providing the funding to jumpstart construction of the Centennial Complex.

He will be remembered for his humility, hard work and giving spirit.

A memorial service will be held November 11 at 3 p.m. on the fourth floor of Centennial Complex.
